DIY Cake Stand for only $1

A DIY cake stand with cookies on top

At this point you probably have a pedestal bowl or cake stand, they flooded the internet with popularity in 2020 and have been doing strong ever since. I saw this line of dining wear and Target and thought the purple color was mega cute. The kicker? Each piece was only 50 cents. Now that is what I call an affordable DIY. Make your own DIY cake stand for only one dollar following the directions below!

More Than A Cake Stand!

What I love most about this project is that you can use it for so many more things that just food. This would make a lovely trinket holder, jewelry catch all, a skincare tray.  You name it, the possibilities are endless! I should also note that this dinner wear line from target comes in a BUNCH of different colors. So if purple isn’t really your jam there are tons of other options. Or you can always paint! The baking soda paint hack would be perfect for this.

The cake stand is made with a bowl and plate glued to each other

Supplies:

DIY Cake Stand Project Steps:

  1. Remove stickers from bottom of the plate and bowl
  2. Glue plate and bowl together
  3. Let glue cure for 24 hours!

You can check out the full video here if you would like and thats it! If you are going to be using this for food I recommend hand washing, not sure how the glue will hold up in the dishwasher. You can check out my other footed pedestal DIY here, its more home decor focused. Happy making!
