Finn Juhl Hus // Denmark

I am fortunate because I married a Danish Man, which means that for the remainder of my life we have to travel to Denmark at least once a year. Like I said, lucky.
The main crux of our trips tend to be visiting family but I can always convince them to let me have a little tourist action. One of my favorite places that we went this time was Finn Juhls House. He was a Danish interior & industrial designer and architect who is pretty much responsible for all the best Danish Mid Century pieces. Like this one, and this one. He is seriously so talented.
His house is in Ordrupgaard, Denmark and is now a museum for people to walk through. All of the furniture and artwork is original and was was specifically curated by him for his space. It is said that it was his dream to design not only the house, but every single piece of furniture in it. He was also an avid art collector so there were some amazing pieces to see as well. A super cozy part of the experience is that when you arrive at the house, the door is locked and then you have to ring the bell to be let in. Just like a real house. One feature that I loved was all of the windows that he incorporated into the design of the house. Each room felt so light and airy.
I would like my house to look just like this, but that would be going against everything Finn Juhl stood for. So I hope that one day I can have a place fully furnished and designed my my aesthetic.
