Over the last month I have spent an abundant amount of time with people. Friends & Family. People that I have chosen to share my life with.
I feel full. Filled. I feel happy. Happier than I have in a long time. My heart is satisfied. Content.
Relationships are a funny thing. You give. They take. Or you take and they give. It’s always unbalanced and hardly ever fair, but it’s good. There is a richness to it. Giving of myself or taking of another. Finding the people that offer the 3am airport pick ups and actually mean them. Michael is very good at the giving portion of this equation and I think a lot of the friendships we have developed as a couple relate back to that. The relationships that I have developed solo, well, if I am honest, I am not sure how they came to be.
Isn’t making friends the absolute weirdest thing? Because no one actually has to be anyones friend. We are just all people choosing other people to be a part of our lives.
I learn of lot of really great things from the people I know. Here are some recent lessons:
Remember that things are not important, people are.
Be kind to young people because they do not understand the world quite yet.
Laugh often at yourself.
Just because someone is quiet does not mean they are judging you.
Probably no one is thinking about you, except you.
What impresses me most is how kind they all are and how in their own way they are all searching for happiness and fulfillment. If I am lucky enough to know this many amazing people, how many others are there in the world? And where can I find more? It’s these relationships and people that fill me up. That make me feel loved.
I was going to write something else here about children and motherhood yadda yadda but I am going to save that for another day.
Love your face. So happy we got together. And so happy we're friends.
I'm so glad we were part of the last month. I posted your pics on my blog today. I wish I had known about "no one is thinking about you, except you," when I was in high school!
I hope Dallas is and you are a match!
